Business Take-Off

You were one of those few people who dared to start your own business or to be in on the ground floor of a new venture. Your first ideas may or may not have worked out – but you steered through it anyway and kept sight of what a fulfilling and rewarding adventure this could turn out to be.

Now your business is in that next growth phase. You have the platform, now it’s time to shift up a gear and really make something of it.

As you lead that growth, you’ll continue to be the driving force and the place where the buck really does stop. More than ever, you’ll be the inspiration and the figurehead for those who trusted you enough to come this far.

When I’ve worked with entrepreneurs and business owners, it’s easy to see that they love being the pivotal force around which the business revolves – and that this brings with it a unique set of issues and opportunities. If your situation is something like this, you could use your answers to the questions below to help consider coaching with me:

  • are you always able to be as directive and ‘take charge’ as you should – or, like a lot of natural leaders, are you sometimes concerned about scaring people off?

  • what effect does being the pivotal force have on your ability to get things done in an easy, graceful way?

  • what are the risks to your business if the people around you don’t always react with the same energy, decisiveness and confidence as you?

  • other people often seek you out for advice and guidance – how does this affect your own decision-making and your own view of what is ‘real’ and what you’ve just ‘made-up’?

  • intuitive, ‘can-do’ people sometimes overstretch and under-influence, so that other people and resources don’t keep up with them – do you feel that’s a danger here?
