Attracting Complementary Associates

Help Needed with Short, Fascinating, Easy Research Project

How do innovative, creative people attract others with complementary abilities who help to support and deliver their joint projects?

Some people are naturally innovative and creative – great at coming up with ideas and at getting things started, but sometimes terrible at completing. They may be good at the big-picture and have great intuition, but sometimes miss out on details, over-stretch themselves and end-up with lots of half-finished projects.

However, some people attract others with complementary abilities who help to support and deliver their joint projects. Richard Branson, Walt Disney and Bill Gates are high-profile examples of innovative, creative people who have done just that.

Those complementary people may be good at selecting the right ideas or good at seeing things through to completion; or they may be well-connected, great at deal-making, at spotting opportunities to apply an idea; or at managing systems and processes.

Timescale & Availability of Results
Interviews will take place during September 2008 and should need no more than one 2-hour meeting.

The results from this research project will be available early in 2009. Free copies of the published ebook containing full results and a “how to” guide will be available to everybody who takes part or who suggests possible interviewees.
